Chaos-Free Kitchen

chaos-free kitchenHaving a well-stocked kitchen can promote and help maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The first step in preparing for success is to be stocked with food to fuel and nourish your body.  You cannot build a house without tools, so think of these tips as the tools you need to build your healthy kitchen!

  • Spices: Having a well-stocked spice rack opens you up to new flavors and limitless recipes.  Experimenting with new spices can often give a recipe a whole new twist!
  • Cookbooks: Sometimes it is hard to be creative, so find a cookbook that suits your inner chef.  Whether you love to cook one pot or pan meals, certain cultural cuisines, or quick and easy meals, there is a cookbook out there for you!
  • Frozen produce: This is an easy way to keep fruits and veggies on hand without worrying about them going bad.  Frozen produce is often less expensive than fresh produce and some brands come pre-cut which makes them easier to add to smoothies and stir-fry’s!
  • Keep a Running List: Keep track of your food and ingredient inventory so you’re not left without a key item when in the middle of cooking.

It’s important for your kitchen to be organized, clean, and well-stocked.  You’ll find yourself cooking more home-cooked meals, trying new healthy cooking methods, and creating happy memories.

Thanks for this post, Bonnie. I’m glad I found your blog (through UBC)… I need to take a look at my kitchen, but heaven knows when that will be. I just get in there, do my business and get out. The life of a work at home mom…every minute counts. 🙂
