How to Get Inspired—Tips to Staying Motivated to Live a Healthy Lifestyle

Inspiration drives motivation. There are many ways you can become inspired so that you are motivated to do more than you ever thought was possible. Some things require absolutely no effort at all. Others, will be worth your while.

Turn your stress into positive energy: Stress occurs in the body naturally.  Learn how to transform your adrenaline rush into positive productive work. Think outside the box at work, at home, and in life in general. Take a chance, you will be surprised what you can do and what you are capable of.

Build a lifestyle around love, laughter, and care: Love the people that are in your life and you will discover things about them you never knew before. Laugh your day away at all of the silly unexpected things that come your way. Care for yourself and others; you never know who is looking and how people can care for you in return.

Try something new: It does not have to be something extreme.  Maybe there is a new workout class you have wanted to try, or you wanted to start painting or learn to play a musical instrument.  Sometimes new passions come from unexpected places.  Trying something new can give your life renewed motivation, or provide an escape from the stressful times.

Let food be your friend – not your foe! With all of the new products and the frustration of picking out what to feed you and your family, just stick to the basics. Food from the source provides your richest form of vitamins and minerals. The more processed and packaged, the less of the benefits you may be reaping. Trust your body that if you choose whole foods such as crisp fruits, hearty grains, savory protein dishes, and tender vegetables with minimally added salts, sugars, and fats, you are treating your body right.

Set a Goal: Deadlines can sometimes be stressful, but not if you set goals that are centered around your health.  It is good to give yourself a reasonable amount of time to accomplish something, whether it is to lose a certain amount of weight, or redesign a room in your house or exercise a certain number of days in a row, setting time-oriented goals centered around eliminating stress can be a helpful way to stay motivated while you get things done.

Inspiration does not always come easy. You need to believe in its possibilities in order to get started and become motivated. Remember, you don’t know what you can do until you try. Accomplishment, commitment, and motivation are very rewarding traits that are in your hands if you so choose to take them.
